The Great Western Chorus, including six members of TUBBS, secured its record eighth British Association of Barbershop Singers chorus gold medal on Saturday 29th May. Alex de Bruin, Guthrie Freeman, Iain Hallam, Graham Harper, Sam Knight and Jorge Sved helped the 54-strong chorus win against stiff competition, qualifying to represent Britain for the 2011 international barbershop convention in Kansas City, Missouri, with the songs Come Take Your Place In My Heart and All Aboard For Dixieland.

The University of Bristol Barbershop Singers rehearse during term-time in the students' union on Queens Road from 5 pm to 7:15 pm.
